The City of Alpharetta is located in Fulton County, Georgia. Founded originally as New Prospect Camp Ground due to it's location near a water spring, Alpharetta was settled and chartered as a city in December of 1858. The city is home to over 35,000 residents and is adjacent to other cities such as Roswell to the south, Mountain Park to the west, Cumming to the north, and it is conveniently only 25 miles from the center of the major city of Atlanta.

Travel by road will generally come from or lead to Georgia State Route 400 which runs right along the eastern side of the city with four interchanges for Alpharetta. There are 3 MARTA bus routes that service the city helping connect to local railroad options. Air travel is just 30 miles south at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Intl Airport (code: ATL).
